No, it's not. The CPU is 2-3 years old but still very capable, although not very efficient.

Way too much for a 2 generation old CPU, and only 16GB of RAM. Maybe for $800? It really wants to be a workstation but it is crippled by the 16GB of RAM, especially with Windows.

Crippled? The RAM is very easily upgradeable to 128GB. What else do you need?
If you were aware about this lineup you'd know this would never be $800 for another year or two.

This is actually a fair price for this machine in new condition. You'll know it when you hold one in your hands. These are overbuilt beasts. On the downside, they're pretty heavy.
