The build quality I feel is similar to the HiBoy scooter which was about 3 times more expensive. The only downsides are that the handlebars are not quite as tall as the HiBoy ones, and there is no electronic brake. The braking power is still good on this LADPED scooter, just not as quick to brake as the HiBoy. I am a 6 foot, 240 pound man and I am able to ride both easily.
I also like how the HiBoy has the red undercarriage lights and this one does not have those. Because my kids ride in the neighborhood at night I wish this scooter had more illumination.
When riding side by side, my HiBoy was reading 18 MPH and the LADPED was going the same speed at 16 MPH. I have not yet used the app to unlock a higher speed on this new scooter but I plan on doing so.
Overall we are very happy with the purchase considering it was so inexpensive and I plan on buying another one today!
