How does this compare to an iPad pro as a laptop alternative when traveling? I usually have alot of tabs/apps open. Considering this or just DeX or a pro or a MacBook

This isn't a $600 tablet to begin with. $400 seems right for what you're getting. That would be slickish. This is just regular non-ripoff pricing. We need to be a lot more discerning.

iPad is 1lb plus keyboard, charger. 1.5 lb total
Great Web book for simple task. Starting at $300 128gb is very good deal. A16 6gb handles 10-20 tabs. M3 8gb handles 30 tabs.
Macbook Air M4 16gb is 4lb total $800. Handles 50-100 tabs
i don't touch my 12.9 m2 pro anymore, been using my android phone since i just use it for media consumption, android beats ipad in that arena if you don't subscribe to streaming services. ill probably pick up a samsung galaxy s10+ when the used ones come down in price, pop in a microsd to store my downloaded media and corn 🌽

The honesty is respectable. Just might be oversharing a bit.

Hmm. My iPad mini 5 currently handling like 30 tabs no problem 🤔 and it's puny specs compared to what your describing.

Meh. I don't understand the concept of the pro model iPads when the air has basically the same cpu and specs. Better rear camera? But who's taking photos with their iPads? Except the crazy weird uncle everyone has lol. So it all comes down to what software you use and your intended use. I personally am an iPhone ipad user but my pc is windows (for now) and I use the Notes app for virtually everything I do anymore. I do a lot of research and learning and client business contact sorting in exclusively the notes app now and I like how they share across iPhone and iPad. And I use split screen between safari and notes quite often on my mini iPad. So in that sense the iPad makes a lot of sense. However, if I'm doing video editing, music editing, etc, there's currently no good app on iPad that comes close to what I can do on the pc right now. But that's my desktop, and it's not portable for flying on airplanes. Depends on the software and the way you intend to use it. So I would say, really hone in on all the websites and apps you plan to use and how you plan to interact with them. Then the device will make more sense as to whether it's a MacBook or iPad.

Been 15 years since i've had an ipad. Is a keyboard, pencil recommended? how about a nice leather protection case?
