haven't tried this, but oxo has a great warranty department. if you have a problem chances are they'll send you a new one, and it's Costco so you can always return it

Recently bought the scrub daddy variation of this. Does anyone know how this one compares?

Might be missing context but why does the grill need to be off? I've always scrubbed hot in my grills.

All the research I have done says the scrub daddy bbq brush is the best choice. Mostly because its a steam cleaner.
Chainmail scrubbers don't do as much as people think they do. Very small contact area and multiple points of failure.

In this case you need the context. Check the comment they were replying to.

Fwiw, bon appetit doesn't like this one: https://www.bonappetit.com/story/...ll-brushes :

OXO products are always well-made and thoughtfully designed—the chainmail brush head can be removed from the handle for easy cleaning—but this one just didn't leave the grates as debris-free as the other brushes we tested. It was able to knock off big chunks, but not much more. The scraper on top didn't have deep enough divots to reach drippings under the grates. OXO touts the brush's "flexible silicone" core that rests under the chainmail, but we found that the head's curve meant only the highest point made contact with the grill. The top and tail didn't hit at all, which felt like wasted surface area.

Shame they couldve easily used heavier duty chain-links and had a quality product. Saw a lodge version that looks better, but it didnt have a handle for it. I see planned-obsolescence everywhere I look, lately.
Just google chain mail grill brush. There's one called Smarter Scrubber Project and Destin from Smarter Every Day on YouTube is like a co-creator of this, and it's all American made but is $75. Also chain mail will ruin porcelain coated cast iron grates quickly too. I think grill manufacturers need to only use stainless steel grill grates for any grill $300+.

18.00 at San Francisco earlier this week on clearance. Sometimes SF has aggressive clearance deals. On the receipt this price didn't show up so I had a red vest fix that.

I'm definitely transitioning away from bristle brushes due to some click bait stories about metal bristles going into the digestive tract.

I can NOT see how this could get in between the bars of a propane grill.

No he *tried* to have it all American made but then turned out it wasn't, the parts are from Costa Rica and China lol

Yet people are still paying $75 for it 🤔

I can confirm the great oxo warranty. They replaced a 10 year old salad spinner when we called to ask how to clean it better. They have replaced multiple items for us.
