There are comfort straps/ suspension bands that people sell or that you can even 3d print yourself. Completely changes the comfort. I had the same issue and was able to 3d print one and now I can comfortably wear them for hours.

I've had these for 2 weeks and they hurt the top of my head after 1 hour wearing them every time still. Sound amazing though

Thats the reason i got away from this style of headphones, though I have no love for earbud style either.. they are less headache inducing. Anyone have a semi-budget recommendation?

wish you couldn't return headphones, once you buy them you shouldn't be able to return them, like diapers

I would bet they're "frequently returned" due to this basically requiring an amp to drive properly.

The marketing on this headphone is a miss from HIFIMAN for sure, they claim the stealth drivers are easier to drive than their previous drivers and market this as not needing an amp due to the 18ohm impedance... but it's 18ohm @ 92db; which means it's lower than average sensitivity and will still be current hungry even if it's not voltage hungry.

You might get away without an amp in quieter environments maxing out the source but really these do need an amp; which I bet a lot of customers are discovering the hard way and returning the item.

I did the same when I bought my edition xs years ago. 3d printed comfort straps and its made a difference in comfort, for sure.

I've had the Edition XS and various noise canceling earbuds from Bose. The Sennheiser HD 58X and 6XX are the most comfortable to me. I can wear them all day without feeling sweaty or like my neck is tired. I would use the 58X all the time if I didn't live in a noisy shithole.

This is THE BEST deal for getting into the hifi space. Even with no amp/dac you will be very impressed.

I have the Ananda Stealth which is similar to this but with a different headphone band. This gets you into audiophile territory at a budget price. Upgraded from a HD650 and the impedence is misleading as others have mentioned already. The HD650 is much easier to drive to normal listening volume. I have to turn up the volume knob way more for Stealth. Not really an issue if you have an amp but if you dont then it is something to be aware of.

To any audiophile w/ experience using these HIFIMAN Edition XS, could you chime in by identifying virtual equivalent from Sennheiser of those headphones. Not sure if I want to purchase a pair yet, but I do own quite a few Sennheiser headphones I've used over time.
