same performance as 3090, 5% better than 4070s, and 16% better than 6800xt? I didn't know the market was that bad. Guess I'll stick with my 6800xt for a few more years

Interesting. First time seeing the 5080s available like this. The Super cards must be around the corner.

Seems like wishful thinking, given that these have almost perpetually been out-of-stock since they launched.
The high-end models have mostly stayed in stock, but the budget ones have been scalped into oblivion.

With a stock tracker, you could have snagged a 5080 FE without much trouble, and the 5090 FEs have been popping in and out of stock more often over the past couple of weeks.

In for a 5080 - I know the Super is on its way, but it may be harder to purchase or cost more. I am good with the 5080 FE! Thanks OP!

"The high-end models-"
...you mean the 5090s that are priced mostly over $2500 by the non-Nvidia AIB manufacturers? The ones with pretty 'meh' design/engineering & ENORMOUS heatsinks?

And lol.. "With a stock tracker" - you're really just proving my point. The FEs (aside from the 5070) have still been hard to get @ MSRP, and often sell out immediately when they are available.

This card runs so much cooler. My 3080 runs very hot... imagine 3090

Picked 5080FE at best buy last week. They have in stock here and there. You can only check at store. Online always says out of stock.

Truly excellent design, engineering, manufacturing, and fit/finish on the FE series cards.
The 5070 FE does run a bit warm/loud at stock voltages, but it is VERY easy to undervolt them to where they use 100W less power than stock (250 -> 150W), yielding significantly lower temps & fan noise. Plenty of youtube videos on the subject, but they seem to do ~2850MHz @ 875mV pretty easily. Unfortunately, the minimum fan speed (when the fans are on) is 30% / ~1700 rpm which is noticeable in an otherwise very quiet case.

I've since gotten the 5080 FE, so I've been trying to sell the 5070 FE. 5080 FE gets similar (or better) results undervolting - I've got mine running 2805 MHz / 875 mV, which runs around 200W vs 360W stock. Less fan noise when fans on @ idle speed, too, which is nice. The fans barely ever kick up much above that idle speed, so my nice quiet PC stays nice & quiet even when gaming.
There's no current fix for 30% fan problem, correct? Even on MSI Afterburner?

5080 has a ton of overlocking headroom, 5070 not so much. May be worth waiting for super refresh if you have time. If not, this is it.

Had a rtx5080 in a big power hog pc, loud, space heater and just parted it out Sold it. My PS5 Pro is soooo good at 1440p on my Oled 27Rog monitor. Boot up 2-3faster and I was in games so fast. Clarity was spot on unnoticed. Idk 🤷 ♂️ Just what happened to me. I only play like Warzone, Fortnite, Apex, Rocket League and soon GTA6 and Battlefield 6.

I believe this is the thinnest 5080 out there at 1.5". SFF builders rejoice.

Rumor has it the the 5070 and 5080s are going to get price cuts and the SUPER series of them will take over their current MSRP value.
