Remember when Costco had this model on clearance for $999? Sigh...
Still, killer laptop and well worth the $1400.

It did! They sold out near-instantly though.

I bought a certified refurb 14" m2 pro 32gb 4tb for $1300 that has a year warranty. Not sure if the processor is a lot slower than the newer ones

overpriced computers, only because it has an Apple
If you need one, you need one. Honestly best development machine you could ask for.
I have a much beefier Asus machine for gaming, but that's mostly plastic and after 2 years it's starting to fall apart (the display cable is getting pinched and will probably need to be replaced).
That being said, I picked up a m4 pro, 24gb 512gb off Facebook marketplace for $1400 (no tax) with 5 more months of warranty. Honestly guys, you should do this and then add apple care to it.

Shouldn't you be defragging your computer right now instead of posting nonsense?

Costco did and best buy would match if you messaged a few CSRs. Got mine at $1059 months back from BB. Typing on it right now.

No. 2GB of RAM isn't substantial, and the exchange deal is cheaper and newer processor especially considering tax.
M3 Pro underperforms the M4 in benchmarks.

Also need to consider at *some* point Apple will begin ending support for M-series chips and buying the year newer one gains you at least an extra year over the M3, whenever that is.

M3 Pro boasts more CPU cores (up to 12 cores vs. M4's 10 cores), especially more performance cores (6 vs. 4), which can be beneficial for heavy multi-threaded tasks like complex video editing or coding.
The M3 Pro has more GPU cores (up to 18 cores vs. M4's 10 cores), which gives it a potential edge in raw graphics processing power
