lists same attachments as $399 ebay listing. only difference is the 2yr warranty on ebay vs 180 day on woot. Can purchase 2 yr Asurion warranty through Amazon for around $30. After separate warranty purchase Woot ~$25 cheaper and longer warranty.

lists same attachments as $399 ebay listing. only difference is the 2yr warranty on ebay vs 180 day on woot. Can purchase 2 yr Asurion warranty through Amazon for around $30. After separate warranty purchase Woot ~$25 cheaper and longer warranty.

I'm weary of these after seeing so many 3rd party battery fires. Your original Dyson battery (especially in a refurb) isn't going to last forever, and the first part replacements are insanely expensive.

I keep wanting to buy this every time it goes down to 350 but hoping it will be even cheaper at some point. This is now a few years old, although it's the best stick vac money can buy. Samsung, LG etc are inferior- by miles!

Can anyone tell me if this would be my best choice? Dogs plus strictly hardwood floors throughout) entire house…..

If I had the V11 I don't think i'd upgrade. The V15 has appreciably more suction, but that doesn't really matter because the V11 already has plenty. The upgrade from a V8 to a V15 was enormous, however.

The laser works well, but I don't really need things that perfectly clean, either.

The main difference is it has a green light where you can see all the dirt and dust on wood, tile, and vinyl floors. Slightly more suction and more attachments over the V11. The V lineup is great if you want something small and portable. Yet you still have to hold the trigger while you are using it and the batteries do not last long enough. So if you don't mind the cord the Animal 3 is far superior at cleaning and is only $200 refurbished from Walmart.com with a full warranty,

Are the later model dyson vacuums using the same type of plastic as the earlier ones? I have a v10 that's literally crumbling from normal use (broken plastic trigger, broken dust bin slide, shattered torque motorhead frame, attachment connections deformed...). It's a very useful battery vac, but the build quality is atrocious. I'd like to replace it, but it would be difficult to justify even the $350 deal price if it wasn't any more durable.

What's the budget version of Dyson these days? Last time I bought a vacuum, I put Dyson and Shark head to head and ended up returning the Dyson because for the cost it was just silly.

I was in the same boat - ripped up our carpet to find hardwood underneath (score!) plus a dog and kids. We went with this specific model (Dyson renewed) and love it. I thought the green light would be gimmicky, but it's incredibly useful. It picks up everything we ask it to, we can vacuum the whole house (1600 sq ft) on a single charge with plenty of battery left over. The hair tool is great for our bathroom floor where my wife's hair sheds like crazy. It also comes with the "Digital motorbar", which works great on area rugs. The bin size is big enough for our needs, but I can understand people that have bigger houses complaining about having to empty the bin multiple times.

We had 6 years old V10 absolute that got some cracks on the main bin. Had purchased from Walmart refurbished. Ran fantastic & still runs pretty good. I placed some tapes on those cracks and been still pulling through. The battery was an issue after 2 years of use, but I got the Dewalt adapter & attached Dewalt battery to it, I could run the whole house in boost mode & still have some battery left in it. We just pulled the trigger last week & got V15 from costco. The size of the bin is very similar to V10, some more attachments in V15, a little more suction than V10, and the laser cleaning is a plus. Now our V10 runs as a back up for V15.
