Fire HD 10 is perfectly usable for watching content, reading, comics, manga imo. Also good for a Home Assistant wall panel. Has headphone jack and USB-C. Refurbished came like new. My Fire HD 10 came with FireOS 7.3.1.9. If you want to use Fire Toolbox to disable Amazon bloat, use custom launcher, install Google Play Store/services, removing lockscreen ads, and disable OTA updates make sure to setup without wifi first. Connecting wifi will immediately try to fetch updates. Latest updates break Fire Toolbox functionality. You can still sideload apps and Google Play regardless fortunately. On a sidenote, do wish the plus model w/ 4gb ram was available. 3gb of ram of the Fire HD 10 is cutting it close for Android. 4gb+ would ideal. 32GB isn't much storage either but at least there is an SD slot. Don't recommend the Fire 8 or 7 unless you are fine with using it as purely a kindle device due to even less ram. Edit: Slate color is in stock and is likely the Plus model with 4GB of RAM from previous SD threads. Worth a shot

The fire HD 10 plus came with 4gb of RAM. For whatever reason, they don't make it anymore, but the extra gig made a world of difference. I don't know if they ever put the plus model in the refurb sales, but it's with keeping an eye out if so.

I bought one last time and tried to add Google services with the play store. When you add custom launcher , it makes it very sluggish. With the current version , you can't delete most of the bloatware. Keeping bloatware and adding additional services makes it really bad. I would not recommend it.
ill never understand why people buy the fire tablets. kindles i understand. the fire tablets run like ass, and the app store sucks.
Maybe up to 3-4 years ago, they were still slow but the gap to real Android tablets was smaller. Today they don't make any sense brand new. Even refurb'd cheap doesn't make any sense.
