Found an iPad mini 128GB latest model fair for $315. No tax in FL, has a small scratch outside the the viewing screen area, warranty expires in April 2026. So yes warranty stays with the original activation date.

Excellent condition open box is $603. I think it makes more sense to buy a new one for $40 more than roll the dice on a used one.
If it still has a warranty and is in like new condition, it's most likely a return within 30 days of purchase. The risk is very very low. Worse case, you can return it to Bestbuy immediately or get a replacement from Apple within a year.
I'd have great success with used products in the past (although those were purchased at a significant discount). There are SOME products that I wouldn't buy used though like computer motherboards.
I see that I've struck a chord lol, that is actually wild that you would need me to list out all the things you can't do on an iPad. I agree, if there's nothing it holds you back from because you are a light user, go for it!
The majority of consumers are "light users" who use it for Netflix and Youtube lol
What do people do on these expensive apple devices that doesn't make the "ecosystem" feel restrictive. Like I have an iPhone, I sorta hate it.
I can ssh/rdp/browse/stream/run AI models locally/write code/game/use productivity apps (office et al). You are aware of the mac laptops that utilize these same cpus, which are widely used by developers/creators? Now, do a lot of folks buy these and use them for tasks that could be done on a $100 Chromebook? Absolutely. But to imply these aren't extremely capable devices is just ignorant. I say that as someone who switches interchangeably between windows/linux/mac throughout the day/week.

Don't think this is a good price, but most Apple stuff gets upvoted regardless. M3 chip is fast and with iOS 26 you might be able to take more advantage of that, but Macbooks with M3 are like $100 more. This doesn't have much over the base model except for the processor.
At least the Pro model for casual users comes with a much better display, the Air seems like the black sheep in the lineup. Pros are expensive and still not worth it compared to a Macbook for getting work done, but at least they have that nice display...
