Also something else to keep in mind, Ohio is sales tax free until midnight on the 14th. Not sure if other states are similar though.

That's why they make the 1/2" set. It usually doesn't make sense to make larger than 19mm with 3/8.

Right? New vehicle has 21mm lugs so I just ordered a single 3/8" deep impact socket because my Milwaukee set also only goes up to 19mm - very similar to this set. Single 3/8" deep impact sockets up to 24mm: https://www.homedepot.com/p/TEKTO.../317141653

Not ready to buy a full 1/2" impact socket set yet, but I do have a 1/2" breaker & torque wrench now, so I'll probably get one eventually now. HF at least carried single 1/2" 21mm impact sockets.

If I didn't have/want a 1/2" set, I'd buy a single 21mm 1/2" socket and break lug nuts loose with the breaker bar before I'd subject a 3/8" drive (ratchet or impact) to that.

I know Torque Test Channel has pushed 3/8" ratchets into the 200s ft-lbs but that was testing catastrophic destruction, and a 90 ft-lb lug nut could easily need 50-100% more than that to break free. 1/2" square drive is double the cross sectional area of 3/8" (which is double 1/4").

Once you crack it loose on the ground and raise the car, you can spin it off with a 3/8 impact or even one of those little 1/4 drive impact drills.

It's only 100 ft-lbs, so it's not terrible. I wouldn't go much higher though, no.

100 is the tightening spec? Try breaking them loose with your torque wrench set to 115 next time, then 130, etc. I bet even if you've had them off recently and live some place mild you'll need 120+, and as you add time, heat cycles, and corrosion 150-200 wouldn't be crazy.
May not kill a 3/8" right away, but I wouldn't want to make a practice of it unless I had a backup handy.

Ended up snagging the 1/2" set @ $110. Super heavy, very beefy socket set. Nice set of extensions, too!
Only complaint so far is the unnecessarily large top of the blow-molded case. Wastes a lot of space.
