This is more of a gig switch.
Get the ubiquity flex if you need 2.5g.

how does this work? If I connect my 2 gig router to port 7, does it share across the remaining 6 ports? Or do I have to also connect the router to the slower bank of ports too?

Researched 10gig recently. Stuck with 2.5gig because of the lower cost to upgrade, electricity usage, etc.

Not actually gaming. Does not have performance enhancing rainbow unicorn barf leds. Just regular business leds.

let me tell you, I was kicking myself SO hard for not upgrading my Mac MIni M2 Pro's gigabit ethernet for 10gig for $70 back when I bought it. I feel so stupid now. The reason I wanted 10gig is for faster file transfers Mac <> PC only. If I had 10gig built in, I could've just used a USB A or C> Ethernet for my 1gig port and used the 10gig port to connect my Mac to my PC via SFP+ cable

Yeah I recently bought a motherboard for a NAS server and it only had a gigabit ethernet port! So I had to buy a 2.5GB ethernet card for it. I should have waited until I found a motherboard with a 2.5GB ethernet port! Oh well.

Hindsight is 20/20! Next time we'll both be sure to upgrade the ethernet port.

Does the mac mini negotiate 2.5 and 5? Curious.
