Bought this recently. Great picture, easy to install but a few issues a) the google maps doesn't work well if connected to dash cam WiFi b) the wire connections were loose and shut off the camera over speed bumps. Primary reason I returned because I am afraid it will shut camera if I get into an accident c) a bit of static noise after a few days d) repeated reminder to format SD card.
If they sort these issues, it's really a good camera for a great price. Maybe the next iteration.

I installed mine a month ago haven't had any of the issues you mentioned so far. It's been working perfectly for me, FWIW. I can't speak to your comment A about the Wi-Fi though. I've only connected my phone to the camera a couple of times for changing some settings and firmware update. If I want to get any files off the SD card, I just take it out and put it in a card reader.

Usually not a great sign when the specs don't even mention the type of sensor. Probably upscaled to the 4K resolution listed

Yep. Another random dashcam post boosted on SD. that product category seems to be the flavor of the month. Wirecutter recommendations don't mean anything these days imho. More often than not they seem to be sponsored as well. Or at the very least they come up with some seriously suspect recommendations in the past few years.
