There are great for lefties. I've been using these for years, they write smooth, the ink stays consistent, and it doesn't end up smudging when I'm dragging my hand across the page.
I don't have this precise v5 model. I have the Precise V7. It is my favorite pen out of jetstream, Pentel Energel 0.7(this one would be by 2nd choice) and Pilot G-2 0.7(unsure why is this so popular).Not sure about the V5, but I have tried the V3 and it is not smooth.Just my 5cents. Hopefully it gives better perspective.
