YES it is good for security cameras and dashcams, despite what people parrot who keep saying "no you should ONLY use a high endurance card". I've been using the 128GB model of this card in my 2x DOD LS460W dashcams for up to 6 years, recording an average of 4 days per week in extremely hot Vegas weather, with no problems. I also use this exact card in my Vantrue N4, N4 Pro, and E1 dashcams for between 1-4 years with no problems. It is probably true that the endurance cards can be written to a relatively small percentage more times than these before experiencing sector failures, but these regular cards can still be written to many many times without a problem as I've proven with multiple cards in multiple dashcams in some of the hottest weather in the U.S over the lifetime of quite a few dashcams and more than 6 years of regular use for some of them.

LS460W bitrate about 15 Mbps, 4 days per 7 days, lets say 2 hours each day. That's 832 hours or about 3 million seconds, so total written about 45 million Mb, or 5.6 million MB, or 5,600 GB, or 5.6 TB. For a 128GB card, you've only written over it about 50 times per year. That is pretty light usage.

Some high-end dash cams push 60 Mbps and some people drive 50+ hours a week. Thats when you really need endurance cards. Parking mode would make this many times higher too.

It really depends on your use case, this is plenty fast for most applications.

Is this good for the dash cam or continuously recording Indoor security camera?

No, you would want an endurance card for those devices.

is this overkill for a Switch Lite? If so, anything you all would recommend?

Switch and Switch Lite only require a UHS-1 card. If you need 512GB for your device, this is a no brainer. Well known, well reviewed, and highly recommended (as long as you don't get a fake).

Been using mine in my phone daily for almost six years now and zero issues. I don't think you can find a better 512GB card for this price.
