The reviews say the top is not removable making it difficult to clean. That is the main reason I never got this one.

Dunno why they removed the reference to the in-warehouse price that is $10 cheaper. $69.99. As always YMMV.

Terrible rice cooker. We've bought 2 and both have had the inner pan non-stick flaking off after 6 months of use.

I've seen this or a similar one at my local Costco and it's a no go for me with that non stick lining.

Go an instant pot instead, which has a stainless steel pot

sounds like dumb ass marketing wanted to reserve the removable version for a higher price point.

Thanks OP! 👍
I just got it in-store for $70.
Where can I get the stainless steeel? That would perfectly complete my purchase.

I have this and use it twice a week. Works great! Top is not hard to clean just wipe it with a paper towel or clean rag before it dries and you're good. Not sure the incremental improvement over this vs a $250 rice maker just appropriately salt your rice and you're set.
I also have one of these and would offer a similar review. Good build quality, easy to clean, perfect rice almost every time.My only "complaints" are just petty whining, and the few times it has t performed flawlessly were because I was doing something weird like dumping in frozen veggies and didn't change the settings from "White Rice" so the weight/liquid ratio was way off from what it should have been.

Not difficult to clean at all. This cooks rice very evenly - from top to bottom. The taste is different than of regular rice cookers. The best one so far.

It's not a Zojirushi, but the one priced similarly on a recent deal is made in China so I'll probably pick this one up instead. Can't argue with Costco's return policy too.

This costco tiger cooker (china made) is pretty good, have similar one for 15 years still works like new , with daily use. The stainless bowl is $30-45 extra.

The japan made is good too.

Still better than insta pot for rice.

use the model number "JBV-S10U" and stainless on Amazon or a search engine and several options should pop up.

how does this compare with the fancy $300-400 rice cookers I saw here a month or so ago?

Bought this one from Costco a while back. Rice only stays in good shape for 2 days or so then it starts to gets soggy in the middle and crusty on the edges. Will be returning this one to Costco. I bought a fancy $300 Zojirushi one from Japan and it's pretty magical at keep rice consistent for days on end.

I did extensive research for a brown rice cooker specially Gaba brown rice and I'm very happy with my Zojirushi Induction heating Japanese made, I even compared it to their more expensive pressure plus induction side by side and I got better results with the IH model.
Coming from instant pot this was a big upgrade.
Advice find what rice you will use and then decide but I think can't go wrong with Zoji IH.
Model is?

Not all made in China is substandard. I've had my China-made 5-cup zojirushi for 15 years and aside from the internal soldered clock battery dying it has worked flawlessly.

how much better is this at cooking white / brown rice / other types of rice than my instant pot?

seems like the other advantage is to allow rice to stay good for a couple days without drying out?
