I have a pile of chinese emulation handhelds that I buy, set up with a huge library of games, tinker with, beat Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins, and then toss in a drawer to never use again. Should I add this one to the pile?

It's just sales tax. "Ship from United States" works by forwarding your order to a local company in US that already stockpiled these devices a while ago. So technically, you're buying a device from some US company, which has to collect sales tax.

One of my recent Anbernic device purchased from the same seller ("Hanhibr Local Store") was shipped out by a company in Chicago. Another one from a different seller was shipped out by "Wilton Tech Corp" in Houston.

That's unfortunate. The price on Aliexpress during checkout (with tax included) should be final. Have you emailed the seller and asked why?

This is probably one of the better starter devices imo. Don't really need to mess with cfw (custom firmware), has a better resolution and brighter screen than most devices you'll find at this price range, and you'll also get a bit more out of the a133 processor vs the rk3326 or h700 devices. Youtube or reddit are great resources for these things.

got one a few weeks ago. build quality seems better than many others like it I have had from companies like Anbernic and miyoo. the d pad is a little small compared to others but not really a game changer or anything. the real test will be time and if if eventually craps out or the screen starts getting tears in it.

i can vouch for this. i ordered a few days ago and the price kept fluctuating as i checked out. every few minutes the product page would switch between 2 different prices. i kept playing the game until i got all the way to receipt with the lowe trice (it was about $2. totally not worth the effort but fark them)

now it's a couple dollars less than i paid. oh well.

Install Knulli. Install Retroarch on Steam. Install Syncthing on your PC. Watch YouTube for 5m to configure Syncthing on Knulli to sync saves and states. You now have cloud saving through steam cloud and syncing between a slick retro handheld with retro achievements and your PC.I love my Brick but I mostly just use it as a pokemon machine. pretty screen and high res does well with shaders.

Bought one after doing some research a couple of months ago for my first emulator device. This one has a good build quality, higher resolution, and better screen. Alot of people complain about the back plate getting to hot, but I have never really experienced that, but then again I am mainly playing 8 bit games. Now I want to upgrade to a bigger screen with an oled screen called the retroid pocket 5. The Brick is more portable, bring with you anywhere device, and the larger retroid pocket is for home use.
