Unfortunately that business model usually ends up with the company going under in software. Maintenance and updates aren't free and can't be ignored. I don't mind supporting software that benefits me, and I've been around since pre-subscription days too.

It would be nice to have the option to keep vaults locally, but I'm not worried about it being on the cloud with 1passwords secret key architecture. It's convenient for using vaults for build servers/deployments as SMB too.

I pay for 1password so they can worry about securing and keeping secure their platform and data. I can easily self host Vaultwarden or Bitwarden to keep the data fully in my hands, but I don't want to risk/go through the hassle of potentially losing it for whatever reason. I also don't want to worry about a backup plan, maintaining, securing or any of those kinds of logistics. 99.999% of the time is smooth sailing, but 0.001% is still too much risk vs time to get back.

It is "yet another subscription", but it's one of my highest value subscriptions.

So submit a bug report for the websites you have trouble with.

Bitwarden is $10 a year and does almost everything 1Pass can do. $18 for a year of 1Pass is the correct price for the product, IMO, but not their full price. So I will stick with Bitwarden.

Bitwarden is $10 a YEAR
Isn't Bitwarden free for personal use?
It is. But $10 gets you some premium features. It's worth it imo.Why anyone would pay more that that when Bitwarden exists at that price point makes no sense to me.

Currently using Bitwarden. Is 1Password worth the premium compared to Bitwarden?
IMO no. I have used them in the past & the UI is a tad better but I love Bitwarden granted if there was no Bitwarden this would probably what I would go with

Anyone know if a previous user can rejoin again with the deal or have to use a different email address? I switched from 1Password to Bitwarden earlier this year after having 1Password Family for over three years. Yes Bitwarden is great and its free for most uses, but the family part is what 1Password shines at. It is dead simple to have shared vaults and you can just drag and drop login. This is very simple when you have kids that now have a phone and require to have their passwords etc.
I tried the organizations with Bitwarden and it is so confusing that paying for their Family plan doesn't make sense. So i'm thinking of switching back to 1Password.
