had this blower, sold it along with all my kobalt 80v and most of 40v to switch over to ego. Performance is night and day in both power and run time.

You're happy with the Ego or rather have the 80V Kobalt back? Your comment is a little open ended.

I have both ego and kobalt. You can't go wrong with either one. I personally prefer ego because i have many tools from ego

Seems like they priced it for 2 batteries rather than 1. Have the OG 80v line and they are all still kicking. Just have to learn to store the batteries correctly and they will last.

I got rid of all my kobalt 80v tools, then bought ego. The ego blower blows the Kobalt one out the water, and it blows for longer given the same 2.5AH battery.

I have the original 80v blower that was part of their trimmer/blower combo deal when they closed out the line a couple of years ago. Both are phenomenal as far as power. Run time is good, but not amazing. I also have the mower. That came with a bigger battery and is very good.
As was mentioned before, don't store the batteries fully charged. Keep them between 40-60% when not using and avoid letting them drop below 20%. Also good to use it right after you fully charge the battery so it they don't sit near 100%.

This is true for all Lithium ion batteries, not just these yard tool batteries. Unfortunately, I don't see many people having much luck when attempting to follow those guidelines. The logistics alone of trying to charge the batteries just before beginning yardwork seems a very unlikely routine for most folks to be able to maintain (I know it isn't even remotely feasible for me).

This is actually a greenworks rebrand and if we are going greenworks i'd rather get the 800cfm 80v greenworks blower with 2.5ah battery from Costco for $199.
