Sure and some people like to say pr0n/pron for comedic effect. If you don't care for knock knock jokes, you're not required to respond and say you have a doorbell.
Comedic effect? Didn't know we were all 14 again 🙄

Too many hdd failures with seagate on my end to even touch seagate again. With that said I just picked up a 20TB WD from BB for 280 so yea the above is a great deal. You have been warned. Back up, back up, back up!!!!
Yeah, Seagate drives (consumer level) should be sold in 3-packs. two to mirror each other and one to swap to after 6-9 months when something fails. After that, you're increasingly at the mercy of a company that just doesn't care.

Regarding the WD drives, several months ago I happily paid the $280 each (as did you) to Newegg when they had the short lived "Buy a 20TB drive get a free 1TB WD SN770 SSD" deal. Got two of each and so far so good.....

looks like this model is 50/50 of either being Exos or Barracuda drives. https://www.reddit.com/r/DataHoar...0_for_250/
I haven't heard of a single person confirming receiving an EXOS drive in this 26TB increment. I'd say a generic Reddit comment that "it's a 50/50 chance of being Barracuda or EXOS" isn't enough evidence for me. Having said that, this drive is a good value and even if Barracuda it could still make sense, depending on one's application. I personally wouldn't utilize it for anything besides cold storage, but others might not share that preference.

Last I heard, the 18TB Seagate externals are confirmed to still contain EXOS, although I cannot confirm if this is outdated or not - the 24TB increment was shipping EXOS inside for awhile until it suddenly switched to Barracudas. The same may happen to the 18TB at any time. Still, I think the 18TB (currently on sale for $220, brought down to $198 with the Seagate welcome offer code) is a very compelling proposition if someone doesn't mind paying a little more per TB and wants a better chance of getting an EXOS.

I was able to get this for $224.99 with the welcome discount, thanks OP! Can use this for some extra video storage needs.

For anyone wondering how to get the welcome discount, try visiting the website on mobile or incognito. I didn't get it on a normal browser, but did get it immediately as a pop-up when I visited the site on mobile (they will email you a 10% off unique code).

I just got my 18 TB seagates. They are EXOS. I think it's worth it especially if you're using these in a NAS.

seagate sucks on e very level from customer care, RMA, drive failures.
the ONLY thing they're good at is dropping the price to sucker someone to buying their shit and spending MANY hours down the road fixing that mistake. IF it can be fixed.

Seriously. I've never had a Seagate that didn't crap out after 2-3 years. I've still got 3 WD drives that are older than 10 years going strong.
