Yes it's true, i've done it many times with prepaid nonreloadable all the time. So long as they are a major card provider like mastercard or visa it can definitely be added to either wallet for NFC tap payment on your smartphone.
I just tried to add this card and got the following error message with google wallet
"Couldn't finish setup for tap to pay. You won't be able to tap to pay with your device using this card"
Your rebate submission in the amount of $0.10 is pending. Please wait 6-8 weeks for processing. Thank you.
Might just have to return if no deal.
