It happened because of idiots willing to pay $150 + per TB!!!!
Don't pay it, YOU control the market. When you demand $50 per TB by golly it will happen over night. Make it so, it's dirt simple. Don't pay more and prices will drop everywhere automatically! It's as easy as breathing air, just do it already. Refuse to pay more and the price will drop everywhere for all of them. Until then, you gotta wait for an actual deal, cause this ain't one of them!

Anyhow, I got my SN850X and 980 Pro back when they were cheap but only 2TB version (if you were referring to 2TB version then I agree)
