I just don't see the Klein boxes catching on.

So much better for most hand tools, parts.etc... to use their canvas bags.

Because they're absolutely fugly, or because DIY'ers aren't super familiar with Klein, or because they're all kind of weirdly sized and have plastic handles, or because there are many other options at similar price points? Does anyone but electricians really seek out Klein?
I keep a classic Craftsman three-drawer metal tool box in my truck, and when I need more portability but not a ton of tools or just a little more space I use an open-top bag/caddy. I'm pretty brand agnostic but would probably invest in Milwaukee or Dewalt boxes if I need to haul a bunch of stuff around all the time, just because I'd be more confident that they'd hold up and not become obsolete at any moment.

My experience is the opposite. So annoying to dig around in a bag looking for stuff when you could use something with drawers. Much happier now that I switched. I have two different mod boxes and I'm happy with them

Klein used to be a premium brand. Now they'll slap their name on anything. The core tools are still good, but most of the other stuff is crap.

It's still owned and operated by the founding family and still good quality. However, have to also compete with all of the branded and unbranded Chinese junk. Look at Craftsman (once one of the standards for quality tools) - simply bought up by PE and used to simply brand name Chinese made garbage. Klein isn't doing that (yet.)
I like this product - I was unaware there were a tool box in this configuration and will work perfect for my need (not tools ironically.)

Yep - all of those reasons. Including being overpriced for the features and build quality. But I would also ad, "because they're [mostly] sold at Lowe's." I honestly don't know that many professionals in the trades that go to Lowe's before Home Depot or only go in a pinch.

Even the other toolbox brands at Lowe's just don't do that well and end up clearanced and I would even say that the Toughbuilt are actually nicer than the Milwaukee and DeWalt boxes. Dampers on the lids? Wow. But when a brand doesn't catch on then the few guys who did invest get left in the lurch when they want to expand.

The drawers are why I switched as well. It's so nice having my stuff organized and being able to find it quickly. Tool bags/boxes would always turn into a pit where I'd often have to move a lot of things around to find what I wanted. The drawers also move smoother than Milwaukee's.
