I really wanted this case until I learned you have to remove the top panel anytime you want to access the I/O of your motherboard

You don't HAVE to. You can pop off the front glass and access most stuff. And the top easily comes off though.

So you still have to pop something off to access the I/O of the MOBO regardless.

how often are you accessing the IO on a daily/monthly basis that having to take off the top is a dealbreaker

this is the one! it seems like a hassle but in most cases (pun intended), is only a problem when you first build or if you buy a new device and have to connect it there, which most people don't do very often!

I didn't do enough research when I bought mine. I have this case in Racing Green with the LCD panel. It looks great, but if I could go back, I would definitely get another case just because of that IO access. It's just a PITA plus there are two fans up there that you have to cable manage through. I don't have to access the IO often but it's annoying enough that I can't recommend it. Building in it and the build quality is great though.

This. I'm plugging something into the back of my PC maybe once a year.

I have the ITX version of this case. It's great. I don't really access the MB IO often. If I need to plug a USB drive for example I just use the front panel. But understandable if you always need access to the IO, though I think it's easier to access this case's top IO than rear IO (like on my Corsair 5000D) since I have to reach all the way back there or move my case off to the side to even be able to see the back. Whereas this I just pop the top which is super easy to do. But everyone has a different set up.

It actually makes it easier to plug things in since you don't have to reach around to the back trying to fish for a usb slot or move the whole pc.

if the front io is good enough, then practically never. but is it?

they stacked the front io on this case, but i think it would uglify it and would never use it. so its probably a deal breaker.
