As a former Amazon driver, we love these, because it is a deterrent for porch pirates. Amazon dings drivers for missing packages, so anything I can do to prevent theft is a welcome sight.
Is the delivery person going to bother? Unlikely.
Then if they do...how does it get locked after? It seems like a normal lock. So you leave a padlock open on it and have the delivery person lock up after? And then the next delivery person...can't open it.
or there's a combo lock which every delivery person has to have and use.
There doesn't seem to be any one way, delivery only access that these usually have.
This is just a locking chest.
Wouldn't expect them to lock it, but in my experience delivery folks have no qualms with putting your package into something like this. We just have an old cooler outside we put a sign on it that says "place deliveries inside please" and they do it happily. Mainly started using it to keep electronics from getting wet and heat-sensitive things from melting.
been needing something like this. this one seems fine. I wish it had a paper mail slot as well as a red outgoing mail flag. I will add those things myself I guess. The fully featured ones on Amazon seem expensive.
I get multiple deliveries per day from Walmart and Amazon, especially Walmart who for some reason can't combine shipments so I have 2 or 3 different drivers pulling up.I was thinking of getting this for my smoker and use it to store pellets, but does not seem very waterproof reading the Amazon reviews.
Your pellets will almost certainly get ruined by either straight trapped rain water or humidity over time. Store somewhere dry and preferably climate controlled to extend their life.

I use Home Depot buckets for pellets. Cheap and effective.

Anyone have this that could comment on quality?
I've got one that has been beside our garage door for a few years now. It's worked just fine with no real signs of wear, except that the sign on the front doesn't hold on very well. While we've never had any problems with water getting into it, bear in mind that it's kinda sorta sheltered by the edge of our roof, since it's right up against the house. We live out in the country, a few hundred feet off the road, so we don't bother with a lock. Pro tip: we put a chunk of concrete in the bottom to make it more stable, with the added bonus of making small packages easier to reach.
Too bad it doesn't have a wifi controlled lock. You could anticipate something getting dropped off and then notify you it's been opened and closed and then lock it or something
WiFi padlocks do exist, seem to run $150-250 depending on quality and desired features. Would work great for this instance. Example below.

They;re expensive due to weight, not cheap to ship.

This is NOT a deterrent for theft. But it does a great job at preventing packages from being in the rain, bugs crawling in them, or the neighborhood stray cats from marking them. I travel every week for work, and packages often get delivered early or (more often) late, arriving when I won't be home for several more days.
To those saying no delivery driver will bother with this- that's not my experience. I highly recommend getting a sign that says "all deliveries here" off amazon or similar for $5-6 and attaching it to the top or front of the box. It resulted in a much higher number of deliveries being deposited in my box. I have a similar box with a sign for all deliveries and 90% of my packages DO get put in the box.
This is a good price for what appears to be a better built box than I have from a reputable brand. I like the fact that it is double walled and the "roof" is angled so that water runs off rather than sitting on top so that it spills when you open it.

In theory you can add a 4 digit pad lock, put the code in the secondary line of the address label. Now will most delivery agents follow through? Probably not

I want to echo these comments. Agree it's a useful product. We have a south facing porch on a corner lot. full-sun, every day. The product has been on our porch for at least two years now. Is it perfect? Nope. Does it do a great job of keeping packages out of sight? ABSOLUTELY. I'm tempted to buy another to have a spare.

They aren't going to take the time to nicely load that and lock the padlock.
