The set release that made me say, yeah f**k magic. The amount of money I spent on preorders, just for things to come damaged, not shipped, no customer service. Tcgs are just an effing plague of addiction. I found that, no, I don't give a shit about being competitive with card games, I just want to hang with some pals. Yeah, just play a board game then or dominion. Eff magic. Eff tcgs.

This appears to be the going price on TCGPlayer, seems like the prices for FF is finally starting to come down.

No, this is not the entire collection. These are just pre made deck from the FF collection that a player can use to start playing immediately.
Here is the site if you want to see which card is available from where https://magic.wizards.com/en/prod...ge-gallery

does this mean you're getting the COMPLETE set of FF cards? Like you don't have to go out and buy booster packs hoping to complete the collection?

No, this is just the 4 preconfigured Commander decks (aka Precons). There are many FF cards that are not included in these precons.

For a full list of cards in these precons you can check out Wizards website here: https://magic.wizards.com/en/news...-decklists

Please note that with the FF set, Wizards made a normal (this listing) and Collectors precons, the difference being the foil treatment on the Collectors set. The site I linked explains this.

To my knowledge there hasn't been a first party collection released by Wizards that includes every card of any particular set. This would defeat their business model as they want people to be opening packs at the chance to get that rare chase card.

They are just going to keep printing the precons as long as people keep buying them. Honestly, I wish they would do another print run of collector boosters as well (minus the serialized), really screw the hoarders.

As it should, $80 was a crazy price, the fallout decks were only like $60. If I had 3 friends who wanted a deck I would absolutely consider this. This is under $50 a deck.

I started playing MTG around 2002. Looking at this gacha fomo crap makes me feel grossed out, almost as grossed out as when a youtuber plugs a gambling site.

Just a warning that ordering MTG precons on Amazon risks them shipping in a bubble bag, delivered to you flattened. Never again Amazon...

WOTC must have printed a ton of these. Demand was super high but printer go brrrr. These were going for $350+ for weeks after launch.

Chronicles could be bought in complete sets, might have been how they sold it actually. Been a long time and haven't bought cards since Tempest so the memory may be a bit faulty.

You have no idea how this one comment answered every question I had about buying into this, as a FF7 fan but not a Magic player.

Well maybe you have an idea now, since I told you.

If they released a FF-themed deckbuilder that I could drop 80 bucks on and be done with, I'd be all over it.

I am a FF and i am very happy with the way that they captured the spirit of the characters
take for instance FFVI - Sabin and the suplex phantom train.
Sabin's card art is running in front of a train and one option is to remove an artifact from the game.
Guess what the phantom train base card type is?
Also, there are 16 different art cards for Cid.... any true FF fan would know why
so yea... this set is fantastic for a collector, even if you dont play it
