getting annoying sibilance through my Denon AVR-1911 receiver when streaming shows/movies

My system includes a Denon AVR-1911, an Onn 4K, and a TCL 55S405 TV. I' ve recently been noticing annoying sibilance when watching/listening to streaming shows in Dolby Digital Plus. I've since learned that this is a known issue with older Denon receivers. I've tried disabling DD+ in the Onn 4K, but the Denon still shows DD+ on the display. I've tried using the optical out from the TV, selecting pass-through mode, and assigning the optical input on the Denon. I'm still seeing DD+ on my Denon display. I just tried switching Paramount+ content to stereo mode on my receiver, and I still heard the sibilance. I spent a lot of time trying to figure this out, to no avail. I'd like to configure my system so that I can stream content (from Netflix, HBOMax, Prime, etc.) in a surround format without that annoying DD+ sibilance. Any ideas?
Thanks
