Thank you for replying. I just tested it by activating direct mode and I'm still hearing the sibilance/distortion. I don't think it sounds like a blown tweeter. This is baffling (and really annoying)...

Are the Onn and TCL TVs the source of the streaming content? Are you using HDMI ARC or S/PDIF to connect the receiver?

Not familiar with that particular Denon model but have owned several... Does it have 'Direct' mode? If so, switch to that and you can be sure it's passing the audio through with no adjustments. ...
