getting annoying sibilance through my Denon AVR-1911 receiver when streaming shows/movies

My system includes a Denon AVR-1911, an Onn 4K, and a TCL 55S405 TV. I' ve recently been noticing annoying sibilance when watching/listening to streaming shows in Dolby Digital Plus. I've since learned that this is a known issue with older Denon receivers. I've tried disabling DD+ in the Onn 4K, but the Denon still shows DD+ on the display. I've tried using the optical out from the TV, selecting pass-through mode, and assigning the optical input on the Denon. I'm still seeing DD+ on my Denon display. I just tried switching Paramount+ content to stereo mode on my receiver, and I still heard the sibilance. I spent a lot of time trying to figure this out, to no avail. I'd like to configure my system so that I can stream content (from Netflix, HBOMax, Prime, etc.) in a surround format without that annoying DD+ sibilance. Any ideas?
Thanks

Not familiar with that particular Denon model but have owned several... Does it have 'Direct' mode? If so, switch to that and you can be sure it's passing the audio through with no adjustments. Could help figure out if the issue is your setup or the source.

Are you sure you didn't blow a tweeter during a late night jam session? I've done this more than once...

Thank you for replying. I just tested it by activating direct mode and I'm still hearing the sibilance/distortion. I don't think it sounds like a blown tweeter. This is baffling (and really annoying) me.

Do you have this issue with a Blu-Ray disc?

Are the Onn and TCL TVs the source of the streaming content? Are you using HDMI ARC or S/PDIF to connect the receiver?

Have you tried using other streaming devices?

The audio on streaming services is often worse than Blu-Ray and might even be DRM watermarked tied to your account.

I tried streaming from the Roku built into the TCL TV and seemed to have the same issue. I have an optical cable from my TV audio out into my Denon receiver because I read about some models (including mine) having issues with using ARC for Dolby Digital +.
Can you please explain what you mean about the possibility of having audio DRM watermarked to my account?
Thanks!
