Not a bad deal, but the Costco Omnibook 7 has better battery life and single core performance. Ryzen 7 350 has better multi core performance

Was $1000 a little bit ago. Lunar Lake processors are more power efficient, thus leading to longer battery life

Maybe it's just me, but these Ryzen mobile CPUs do great in benchmarks but feel slow af in real world use to me. I have the predecessor to this with an 8840HS or whatever and I find it too slow to use for work so have converted it into an always-closed dev server

I have been using a lot of devices with Ryzen CPUs and there is no such issues. You may be having a system with thermal throttling due to some reason like poor Cooling, bad thermal paste or some kind of OS driver issue. Try to check the max temps while running a workload.

@OP, you need to change the title of this deal where it is wrongly mentioned as Ryzen 7 220. As the specification section says, it is Ryzen AI 7 350

The system works fine at a high-level, I just mean its responsiveness/how fast it feels compared to any of the Intel CPUs I've touched recently or the Apple M-series

I am daily driving two of them even today and it is pretty responsive. What about the SSD or Ram you are using? Those contributes more on general responsiveness than CPU as most modern CPUs from last couple of years are more than adequate for general responsiveness or tasks.

It could def be the specific Ryzen CPU I have, but this is just a $1000-ish HP 16" laptop that I bought something like 5 months ago
https://ibb.co/ksfzWRWb

Compared to all of the Intel Lunar Lake 2 CPUs I've tried, just the overall system feels slow. It also seems to not play Dota nearly as well, and all of that while having a lower resolution screen ( 1920x1200 ) than most of the recent Intels I've tried

It's not like super slow in absolute terms, just in terms of my expectations and demands for working on it. It might be super satisfactory to most people, just something I've noticed is that Intel mobile CPUs seem to spike up to super fast / top speed ~ instantly. Sorry didn't mean to derail the convo
