The pro one is supposedly a hefty upgrade from the old bridge. Increased number of lights and accessories can be on a single bridge as well as some fun motion sensing abilities for places with 3+ light bulbs. Then there's a couple of nicer upgrades too: USB-C for power instead of a barrel jack, wifi/ethernet option instead of only ethernet connection somewhere.

People will be practically giving these away soon after they upgrade. Stores will be dumping these cheap.

And buying Open Box from Woot is essentially doing their returned item quality check for them. These are basically unchecked customer returns.

God Hue is so overpriced even at these "discounts."
That's a very, very relative statement. Very inconsequentially cheap for many even at MSRP.

I was thinking of getting as close to ~$33 per color bulb is a good price for sales. Anyone else have a good comparison for pulling the trigger on these? IDGAF, I like Philips and will continue to stock the house with them. haha

You can do better than $33 per bulb for the 60wat equivalents. Just need to be patient.

The 'pro' version will be 3x the price and most people don't need it.

You're paying for products that are engineered and designed almost perfectly, so that they work out of the box with minimal effort and continue to do so for years without intervention. You can always buy cheaper products that require maintenance and care to work properly and may or may not be compatible with other products like Alexa and Google Home. Premium price for a premium product.

I've used Hue bulbs and lights for many years now, and I've had exactly one bulb fail during that time.

Looks like everything is sold out now.
