If you sort the reviews by most recent, it is a very mixed bag. Most complaints are breaks after a couple of uses, salt/pepper comes out in chunks.

Great gift for the in-laws.

Guessing it is of the lower quality chinese grinders
The better ones seem to be around 25 bucks for the pair

It's all the same crap. These are the same ones you can get on Temu for the same price all day long.

I have the pepper grinder. My biggest complaint is that the grind adjustment is nearly worthless-fine grind impossible to get, you'll always get chunks. "Works ok" would be the best I could say IF you don't mind the grind inconsistency.

I don't want to be that guy but... buy rechargeable grinders. They hold a charge a long time and are far less hassle than dealing with batteries. You can find them for less than $20. There's one for $11.99 https://www.amazon.com/Upgraded-R...4011&rps=1

I have not had issues with the size of grind on the pepper.
My biggest complaint is it is actually slower than the manual ones. You have to constantly shake it to get anything to grind.

The grinders with better consistency are the pepper/salt grinders that have the motor on top and container on the bottom (when stored). The pepper/salt stays in contact with the grinding burrs naturally due to gravity. They can be a touch messier since the grinder is open on the bottom, but they usually have a built-in cap or tray to collect fines.

The kind you tilt to activate frequently lose contact with the burrs for a moment until it's tipped enough to make contact with the burrs. You have to be quick. I have this grinder https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C784GL93 and it actually grinds too fast. I'm going to keep using it and I think at $19 it's a good deal, but I wish I saw the one below first.

This is the one I would have rather bought https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DWMQB...wM0YB85sTx It's the motor on top kind where you push a button to dispense. I just like the design better. It does cost more, but I don't think $30 is outrageous.
