So just to add a bit more clarification, minerals need to be bound "chelated" with other organic molecules such as amino acids in order to be more absorbable to the body. In this case, the magnesium is bound to glycine. So one capsule is 500mg with 90mg being actual magnesium so the rest (410mg) ends up being glycine. So this could have another positive feature of allowing someone to increase their glycine intake if taking multiple capsules per day. Glycine can have wide ranging benefits from being anti inflammatory to also benefiting sleep quality and promoting relaxation/gaba increase.

Ignore the 500mg. It is actually 90mg of elemental magnesium per capsule. A lot of brands advertise it in the misleading way so you should always look at the nutritional facts.

This is what you want, not the oxide.

Taking 200 mg of natures something every night before bed. If I don't, my fiancee says I kick her a bunch. When I take it, I sleep settled.

I also feel like I wake up less. This was the kind of magnesium that I read was best for sleep.
are people getting blood tests to show they are deficient in magnesium? if not, why are you supplementing?

Doesn't seem like a good deal to me unless you want lower doses without Using a powder form. 90mg per capsule. There are many better brands with more per capsule/serving for a little more money.
You're misunderstanding milligrams of the magnesium compound vs the milligrams of elemental magnesium. Then additionallynyou have to account for absorption of the various forms which can vary by like 10x.

80% of Americans don't even get half of the recommended amount of magnesium. Let alone the optimal amount.Basically everyone should supplement with magnesium. It has been stripped out of soils and meats so supplementation is now necessary.

Most definitely.Try taking this and Threonate right before bed and you'll probably sleep like a rock
If already someone sleeps like a rock, what would be the benefit of taking this?

Well, the Threonate can also help with mental focus during the day and Citrate helps with GI stuff.

Does this type of magnesium help with sleep?
Yes - but at this dose even Magnesium Glycinate can turn "explosive." People need to be careful of magnesium in all forms. Oxide is a laxative and glycinate can move in that direction with a dose over 350mg (and even 350 mg can become a problem just not explosive) . A lot depends on how someone's guts work and what else they are taking.I would not begin with 500 mg of any form

From what I understand, you want mag gly that uses the Albion tech. I'm using "Doctors Best" and it is the Albion version. It's supposed to be more bio available. It has worked better for sleep for me than hardcore prescription sleep meds. YMMV.

My magnesium was high during my last doctors appointment. You don't need 500mg daily

Yes you can. I had a blood test ordered by my doc, and a pharmacist I used to see to adjust BP meds added a mag test to my blood test I was already going to get. Got it done and received my mag level.

Magnesium blood tests are fake news. Do a bit of research. Not trying to be mean, I'm typing and walking so am blunt.
