I just got this for $650 with my Samsung EPP discount and they gave me an extra $65 off bc I was going to return it. Only downside is it has only two input ports.

Does it not have 3? Mini HDMI, Displayport, HDMI?

I don't understand how anyone wants a monitor this wide. I'm at 3440x1440 right now and it already feels wider than it needs to be.

I bought this but see no advantage to it on FPS multiplayer games vs a regular aspect ratio monitor. I returned it.

Productivity is the reason. I was about to return mine (G91SD)($600 Costco deal) but the increased real state for working side by side on excel and other apps coupled with the gentle curve is amazing. Also amazed at how thin and light is for a screen that size. This is coming from a flat 34 ultrawide IPS that i've been working on for years. So I am accustomed to multiple apps side by side to get work done. The 49 does not feel that much bigger/wider now that it sits stacked with the 34 on top. Vertical height on the 34 x 49 is roughly the same and the curve makes the width Diff. feel smaller than it is. It has its quirks though, not plug and play on Mac. won't get into those, but mine is stable and can't beat the tech/size at the Costco price if the width works for ya. But agreed it's very niche for like watching movies, not sure on Gaming.

How is it better for productivity than side by side monitors? At best, power toys will get you to as easy window snapping as two monitors. Also, how is your text clarity/burn in experience? Did you change your layout to reduce burn in risk?

I just switched from two monitors to a ultra wide like this and while it does take a bit of work to get the window snapping as seamless as having two separate monitors, I find that I much prefer to look straight ahead and work at the center of the monitor for certain tasks. It got really tiring to always need to look to the left or right of my two monitor set up. And given the mounts I had with the old system, I wasn't able to move one monitor centered on me and the other to the side - the UW fixes this issue for me.

I've never used a side by side monitor setup. Started with 34 inch flat ultrawide. Which is not as great as a 34 curved, so this feels better to look at edges with the slight curve vs flat 34. From what I read it just gets rid of the bezel in the middle of your viewing area vs two monitors. I also needed more than one monitor so currently the 34 is on top of the 49 so i can have a primary and secondary screen, like most people use when they have two displays side by side.
I use rectangle on mac, and have it set so i can have 6 windows side by side vs 4 on the 34. Text clarity is decent but only if you turn on one of the two "eye saver" settings. that will change how the colors are displayed so it's less inky black but with it off, legibility is an issue. It's not as clear as my 1440p IPS 34 display. but it's good enough that with that feature on, and tweaking w the settings on mac, it is good enough vs my ips on top.
for burn in, i hide the taskbar, set the screensaver to black, there's some burn in prevent features on the monitor, but not sure what they actually do, just one i notice which is when my taskbar is on it will dim the colors of it so it stands out less. I also keep most of the static content on the ips on top. since that's what its for. and my wallpaper is set to change every minute.

I have one of these since the alienware r16 with the 4090 came out honestly was looking into the ark v2 for even more real-estate but unfortunately it comes lacking 144hz but does have the dial and ability to run 4 inputs at 1 time vs the 2 i have now and unless I can get another one of these for 600ish im gonna hold off until the 57 next gen of this comes out gaming is awesome as well as viewing editing pictures video
