In before someone says they can get a knife at Walmart for $10. Yes, yes you can, do so and enjoy it.

As for this deal, that burlap micarta is pretty sweet. I bet it's a great material for scales.

Thumbs up OP.

Ya beat me to it. I constantly have to talk myself down from excellent deals like this. Like you, I don't take away from people who can and do enjoy purchases like this. Heck, I got three of those $10 Walmart knives just to keep in the glovebox… and a better fixed blade on the trunk.

Thanks for the support, I have many Spyderco's. So when a sprint run of a popular knife in an amazing steel goes on sale it's a great deal.

There's a video describing the scenario. They had some issues with the first run's QC, so they pulled them and sent them back to Spyderco to fix. These new ones are apparently better, and they're offering an extra discount to do right by their customers. Seems pretty reasonable to me.

Exactly, had some minor QC issues, they have been ironed out on the second run. They produce some amazing knives.

It's not S90V for sure. Also a good way to kill America business and jobs.

yikes.
so if you're into knives and justify this with your reasons, great. i'm not against you and you do you. grab a dozen of these at this amazing (20% off) deal.
but don't get upset, or try to tell others they're "wrong", when they have better ways to spend $238. nobody's "killing" anybody's jobs. yeesh

It's not buying a $20 knife; they will cut anything you need. Can't really fault buying Chinese, so much comes from them it's hard not to. But buying items from China who stole the IP/copyright for, produce, sell, that the government supplement companies financially to kill other competition and flood the market does kill the US, or any other country for that matter.

So yes, others buying clone items, that are violating international copyright laws, is "wrong" and its criminal which the buyer is now supporting.

Man I'm glad I got some decent Spyderco knives (1st gen Native CPM 440v, Navigator, early Endura, etc.) before things got so expensive. This is a nice one though!
