Yah these little things don't have much suction compared to a real shop vac. Plus, everyone on slickdeals has at least two shopvacs lol

Yes, I've gone through a few of these units. No matter how much I cleaned it and tried to keep it in good shape, they ALWAYS get pretty funky after some time. I've since switched to the spray bottle/shop vac method and it's working out great. I have to admit that this is a good price for this unit but unfortunately, they just don't seem to last long enough/hold up for my needs.

Didn't even know that was a thing... researching shopvacs as we speak. Looks like Wet/Dry Shopvac is it..

I like my Ridgid 5HP. great filters for when youre not doing wet stuff like cleaning liquid or sucking out your AC drain. The filters can catch drywall dust!

The 5HP looked a little big to me to be a dedicated spot cleaner, and a full sized carpet cleaner would have a rotating brush. I'm sure it'd do (1000% better) in a jiffy, though, especially if you can keep it from getting too filthy to live in the house.

I can't find this spec for the "Mini", but the non-Mini is only 3 amps, so the bar for HP isn't very high.

Got one of these based on all the great reviews. Everyone spills something and then immediately vacuums it up to show how great these are.

That isn't a real test.

Try cleaning something that has gotten generally dirty over time. The mini does nothing. Or it just moves some stains around (since you are getting the fabric surface wet).

Half this machine is basically a spray bottle. One tank for the water/solution that comes out of the hose when you push the button. The other tank holds the dirty water. The vacuum does not add water inside the hose. So like others have said, get a stronger wet-dry vacuum and a spray bottle.
