The guy did check it out at the store. Put a large white label on the back of the phone, and gave me a printout.
That's good, so you should be fine. You're not responsible for anything that happens after they took possession.

My phone (with scheduled Wednesday delivery) has been in Louisville since Sunday. In true UPS fashion, they're not going to deliver it earlier than the scheduled date, even though I'm sure they could have sent it up to NY last night to get it delivered today.

Update - phone left Louisville around 4pm and is now at EWR (Newark).

Is anyone else's package stuck in this state for the last 3-4 days? "The delivery date will be provided as soon as possible." "Package is in transit to a UPS facility"

it's because of the long weekend. The shipping label was generated but the item has not yet been picked up. I suspect that today they will get picked up for delivery in 2-3 days

Anyone try ordering today? I just called the Costco line to buy 2 and everything was going fine until he tried to place the order. They were showing as backordered but when he submitted, they were out of stock and not orderable. He called his support and then called me back and tried again but it still didn't work. He said to try again in a few days.

Good news to you. You don't have to activate at all. You can give it to friend, sell it...all you need is keep paying your bill and don't cancel the line.

Yes same thing here. It's already in my city too, but still says that... hopefully it'll arrive tomorrow.

I just placed an order, took me 20 mins. The device is back ordered, but the order went through fine.

That's odd that it's in your city and still showing no delivery date. Unless your city is Sparks, NV, which is apparently where T-Mobile's warehouse is.

T-Mobile. I assume you have "Packing is in transit to a UPS facility". It should update tonight.

just wanted to report that my local T-Mobile corporate store accepted my trade in and gave me a receipt that its accepted for converted deferred trade in, whatever it means. entire process took 10 minutes, most of it for the rep to figure out how to key it in.
