Can't comment on this particular brand, but the design is what you want in this kind of chopper. It looks only slightly less sturdy than what I have previously used in a commercial setting. Iirc that item was more expensive by several multiples, but worth it production wise. That being said I have a plastic (mueller? Brand I believe) at home, that does the job and this looks miles beyond that in construction, especially for the cost. As far as a placeholder, I am a gadget collector, you definitely need to decide if your use case and frequency warrant the amount of space this will take up. Even tucked away this is not a small device. Page says stainless steel, so you should be able to top rack the blade attachments in a dishwasher. Picture on the site also shows some tools and cut gloves even that appear to be included.

It says stainless steel and aluminum alloy. I'm guessing the rods, pins, and grate blades are stainless and the rest is cast aluminum just from looking at the photo. I personally avoid aluminum like the plague, and I wouldn't recommend putting aluminum through a dishwasher.

Any good? Dishwasher friendly? Want something that really works and is hassle free, not a countertop placeholder.

I'm trying to get into the habit of meal prep too but I can't imagine how often I would use this. Can you share what you're planning to prep with this machine?

I do everything from stews to casseroles to breakfast hashes. Will be using this to cut down on prep time with veggies (potatoes and carrots take longest time)

I used to love having this in the restaurant, but I cant imagine having something like this at home. The space it takes up is going to be incredible for the little convenience it adds.

I have a horizontal version of this chopper and the housing for the blades are made of aluminum alloy just like this one. You do not want to wash anything alumninum alloy in the dishwasher as it will react and turn black. Even worse, alot of that black will rub off and stain your hands or anything it comes into contact with. Unfortunately I made this mistake with attachments from a meat grinder going through a dishwasher...
