I've had mine for 2 years and use it everyday for my protein ice cream before bed. It's nice knowing exactly what's in your ice cream and it's fun experimenting with different flavors. Today I made caramel coffee chocolate chip. Salted caramel protein, coffee and lily chocolate chips

it depends what you tolerate. variations mostly include

- choice of milk (more fat = creamier taste but more calories). i use fair life 2%
- choice of protein powder. i use on vanilla since that's what Costco has
- choice of sweetener. i use allocase or whatever its called.
- choice of thickening agent. i add xantham and guar gum for more ice cream consistency. other options include cream cheese, vanilla pudding mix, or just nothing if you don't mind icier texture
- flavoring. i add vanilla extract

that's pretty much all there is to it

Is this the same one that Costco sells for $180?

Costco's version has three containers which this has.

In for 1, we aren't sure if we'll like or even use it enough to justify full price, it's a gamble imo for a refurbushed item with a limited 90 day warranty

"Refurbished" items get rid of factory defects that would otherwise be present in newer machines, I like to think of it like when car manufacturers do a recall or there's a service thing where they will repair a known issue making it good now.

Screw it! In for 1! On a weight loss journey that will need time, I need to lose a lot of weight. Already down 30 LBS and want to increase protein the easy way. My friend has it and has made me protein ice cream with macros shown, and I'm blown away. Thought about it before, but it was too expensive. Now, no excuse. I do worry about it being on the counter and being so large.

Never bought kitchen appliances refurbished before. Has anyone else? Any recommendations on what to look out for before first use? Does anyone know if it's refurbished by Ninja? Also, do you suggest the Assurion warranty? Does anyone have any experience with them and refurbished products?

Thanks!

Yes same model name from Costco CN501CO the only difference is this only has 2 containers vs 3 containers at the Costco brand new one.

Allulose, I assume. It's a rare sugar found in stuff like dates and raisins. Not a sugar alcohol, which a lot of people seem to think.

Mine from woot refurbished has been working for a year making, have used it like 80 times Also those 4 pack aftermarket tint works fine. Got 4 for like $20 and they work like the one it came with.

Mine came with a known bug which doesnt turn on unless u unplug and plug back. Have it connected to a powersurge and use the on/off switch when i want to use it.

This is hard to resist because it looks like it makes delicious ice cream! I try to limit myself to a pint a month (give or take). My fav brand is Haagen-daz which I can grab on sale buy one get one free for $7.00. For me it's a lot less expensive than buying this machine for $99, then buying individual ingredients, and then storing the machine.

It sure looks like fun though!
