A gimble on a webcam seems overkill

The Link 2C is discounted too, seems like the better buy to me: https://www.amazon.com/Insta360-L...B0DDTGY8FG
Thanks OP! Would either of these be a significant quality upgrade over a Logitech BRIO webcam ?
In image quality? Probably not. Streaming apps don't support high enough quality to make a difference.
If you're recording video then you can tell the difference. But might as well as go mirrorless.

I'm only concerned about Zoom / Google Meet meetings.. The Logitech BRIO makes my room seem very dimly lit

Mirrorless camera.
Or put more lights in your room.

Image quality can be defined different ways and absolutely matters on streaming/conferencing apps.

Zoom obviously doesn't send your video at 2k with a super high bitrate. But there's much more to quality besides megapixels and compression.

How sharp the lens is, how well the sensor captures color and contrast, how well it performs in low light before getting noisy or blurry. All of those things matter a lot...and for whatever reason most webcams do a terrible job at all of those things compared to even a mid-tier phone camera.

For Zoom, the benefit of stepping up to a mirrorless camera comes like 70% from the high quality lens and 30% from the far better sensor and software (but for zoom, you could use a 10 year old camera and still look great since the resolution demands are so low).

Cameras like these are attempting to bridge that gap for the customer that realizes "4K" doesn't help you look better on Zoom but who doesn't want to mess around with a camera rig. Hopefully they did a good job.

I got the 2C at the last sale. I am now picking up a 2 as well, so I can leave the 2C at home.

The quality is leagues ahead of the higher end logitech and built in cameras I've been using. Better colors/white balance. Better clarity. Better focus. Better software. AI that zooms and follows my head is quite nice. I figure the 2 version will do it even better than just software.

I'd consider the orbot, but they have no physical tracking, and I'd rather only have one set of drivers installed.

Of course one can always get a much more expensive mirrorless camera and have better quality. Without physical tracking. With less software support. With more weight and size.

Don't see the point of these ultra HQ webcams. Zoom and Teams compresses the crap out of everything fed in.

I have the original and the quality is very good even with my crappy lighting. I just bought the 2c since I don't really need the gimbal and I'm looking forward to the built-in live background remover so I can get rid of my clunky green screen. Hopefully it works as well as the NVIDIA software.

Higher dynamic range can make a difference. If you have a camera which points to an outside window with the high dynamic range you can see through the window outside instead of seeing a washed out area that looks odd.
