Same thing happened to me, I ended up buying it at $700 and honestly I have no regrets...this setup is very nice!

To really hear what this is capable of, you need to watch a 4K blu-ray. The audio blows streaming audio away. Streaming platform audio is all compressed, unless you download the uncompressed files (which are usually huge files) and use something like a Plex server. Otherwise, it doesn't matter what your internet speed is. Netflix, Prime, Apple TV, etc… all compressed. Disc audio is noticeably better. I have Top Gun Maverick digitally and on 4K blu-ray, and it's a big difference. It sounds amazing on this system.

how to drive these in a condo/apartment building?
Quote from Eragorn :
I'd personally say pass unless you want them to hate you lol
or you could just push down on the remote control lever that says Subwoofer and lower the bass. and lower the volume.

in a condo, usually there's decent insulation and concrete flooring. shouldnt be an issue.

for rental apartments, there's no getting around cheaply built paper walls and crappy flooring with zero insulation.

It would work for a condo, but I wouldn't recommend anything with a dedicated sub. I don't know if they make something with rears though that doesn't also include a sub. So my recommendation is if you go with this, just massively turn down the sub in the settings so it's not a nuisance for your neighbors. Your neighbors across the street could probably hear the sub from this if you play it at loud movie settings.

The F has a better sub but the price difference is not that much different

Or also use Remuxes.

Thanks for posting OP. Almost pulled the trigger on the q990f one day before at woot. I went with this instead for $300 less. My take away from reviews is that some people think the f is slightly better sub, some think this is better. Most like color more with this. At $300 less was a no brainer.

Any soundbar cannot beat even the lower end home theater setup with dedicated subwoofer. Soundbars are good who do not want any fuss with setup for just watching TV but want good surround effects. These doesn't work well when you have high ceilings.

I have both and I use them for the above purpose.

Crazy deal. Would love to replace my Q990C with this. But unfortunately no trade in or anything for this.

Can confirm this does really well at 700. I wouldn't pay more than that though. Voices are crystal clear and the bass is punchy and tight for a soundbar class. The atmos isn't that convincing over streaming. But kpop demon hunters movie really brings this soundbar to life.

rtings has this better ranked overall. Easily worth the $300 difference.

Oh heck no! I got this for $700 last month! Returning…..then rebuying it.

Chat with customer support to get a credit back for the price drop.. sometimes it's easier than ordering and returning

ehh, not really. it tries, but doesnt come close to the integra 9.2 receiver and klipsch speakers that replaced it in my living room. i ended up putting the Q990D in the guest room. i dont know if it's the Space Fit ai room correction always trying to figure things out, but the channels sound like they are scrunched up too much. samsung should have had removable ends on the bar to widen the sound stage. maybe my living room was too big for it.
Sold my 7.1 Pioneer elite and polk setup, never going back. Gained like 300 sqft of usable space in my house back!!! /s
