$250 plus $65 for one month of metro service includes Amazon Prime) the phone automatically unlocks after 365 days of unpaid service, but you can unlock it sooner if you purchase $100 worth of service within 14 days.
Requires a port-in number from another carrier.
Not 100% sure but I believe you can port in a Google voice number for $3. all you need is to unlock your number, and then your account number will be the number and the NTP will be the voicemail pin.

so you can downgrade your plan to the $40 for the second month and quality to unlock as you would have paid $65 + $40 = $105. So total out of pocket for an unlocked S25 would be $250 + tax on $250 + $105 for service?

Wish they had the 256GB version.

Did some more research. Looks like you need $100 in refills to qualify after activation. so total would be $415 for the S25. Not bad, but not super exciting either considering it's the 128GB model.

I am typing this on my S24 Ultra 256GB that I ended up getting for $430 total out of pocket from the Walmart / Verizon deal. Had to jump through more hoops, but really happy with the phone and the deal.

Where did you get this unlock policy from? Im trying to see on their site and all I see is 365 days since the activation date and nothing else.

Just go with the mint mobile deal. If you actually want to use the phone. By the time this is unlocked it'll have lost $100-150 in market value and if you would like to continue service the first year you'll be stuck paying $40/month at best. With Mint you'll have 2 full years of unlimited and a usable phone for $720. The same on Metro for the S25 would be $1235 at best over 2 years

Metro BRIEFLY changed their unlocking policy on 8/2/25 and added the "unlock with $100 more in refills" option to match T-mobile Prepaid's long-standing policy. But on 8/11/25 they changed back to their old policy and removed the option to unlock by paying $100 more in refills.

You can also order $25 BYOD line with new number or port and swap phone to it but first need another IMEI to add to S25 account to free up the S25 IMEI to add to different line. You can Swap devices on MetroApp for Free.
