Isn't that the normal price?

Edit: didn't see this was for the z1e. Great deal.

Actually good price for a new, warranty backed, 32GB 1TB Z1E device. For those thinking of getting the new Xbox Ally (non X), this outperforms it easily and the Xbox Full Screen software will eventually come to all Windows handhelds. Or you can install SteamOS on this.

This is a very good deal. I have the Steam OS version and love the screen and features. The Z2E is coming out, but it is a very minor performance upgrade over the Z1E. 10%-15% in most games. I would get this over a $900 Xbox handheld. It also has Hall effect sticks so drift won't be an issue.

I think 8" screen plus 32GB memory plus 1TB hd makes this a relative good deal. When these gaming handhelds get to near or over 1k pricing with integrated graphics performance, they are missing the point. I think max pricing is $700. These are secondary devices. At $900-1k, take that money and buy a ps 5 pro/portal or gaming rig/gcloud for a 2x better experience.

Damn, I got the SteamOS version with Z1 E (dark purple color) last week for $780 which is still under return window. I'm wondering if I should return it and get this to save $130 and then install SteamOS on it. Does anyone know if there is any difference in performance or other features between having SteamOS natively installed compared to user installed SteamOS on this one?

I know it's not the same but I installed SteamOS on a mini PC and as far as I can tell, aside from not have a touch screen, it looks and perform exactly like my steam deck with a controller.

They are secondary for many people. That is changing. I dont think that we will buy anymore consoles in our house between Nintendo, Steam Deck and Legion Go. No one in my house wants to sit on the sofa and play a console. However, you are correct that $700 is more than a console.

Man, I'm really on the fence on this one. I've got a great rig in the house and rarely leave said house so handheld gaming systems aren't big for me as I'll just stream to a device when I'm in bed / on the porch, etc.

But I need a computer for what I do for work, even though I only need it one time a month at first and then probably one to two times a week after that. I tried getting the Legion Go as my main computer but the 16gb of ram didn't cut it - that and I didn't use the Go for streaming when it was next to my oled tablet because using a regular screen next to oled is impossible for me.

So get this amazing deal at 650 for a device I would use a few times a month and then a few times a week.... Or spend almost twice as much for the Legion Go 2? The latter I would use almost daily for personal stuff in edition to the work stuff.

This (with SteamOS) vs SteamDeck OLED. Which one is better?

Yes, but the point of these are portability. A PS5+portal requires an constant internet connection. Even if you use your phone for a hotspot, its will be laggy. It will never work on a flight.

It's currently & 830 at Best Buy. And it seems no longer listed at Lenovo site. Z1 Extreme is over 2 years old now, so probably getting ready for Z2. But still worth considering this

Best Buy is terrible to deal with. Especially returns. Walmart return policy is better and hassle free
