The canvas is stretched over an inner frame, invisible from the front, similar what you can buy in hobby stores to paint on.
Photos printed on canvas are usually displayed w/o an outer, i.e. visible, frame.
The default printing usually has the image wrapped around into the edges (easier to print, they do not have to worry much about alignment). The novelty effect of the wraparound wears off soon, plus you cannot see the whole image at once. I strongly recommend you change from the wraparound to having a color on the edges (so the whole image is on the front), and that color should be black in my opinion. The black edges help the print stand out from the wall. Specifying a color on the edges is usually a no cost option.
When you get the print examine it carefully that the edge color did not spill over into the front of the canvas. If so, get them to make the print over.
I bought two and the coupon worked on both.
