As someone who read the books as a kid and was a huge fan, at least most of the older ones and some of Brook's other works and tie-ins, I had high hopes for this TV show and was excited when I heard it was being developed. I watched the first season and it was kind of meh. It was very clearly meant more for kids and strayed a bit from the source material. The fact that it was originally released on MTV said it all... I never ended up watching the second season which I read goes even further away from the books.

Yeah, I thought Manu Bennett would have made a great Allanon, as I loved him in Spartacus. But sadly, they spent most of the time just focusing making it more like some weird teen romance show set in a generic magical land.
