  • About this deal:
    • Service available for 360 days upon first payment of $240. Plan renews every 30 days for 12 renewal periods. The $240 advance payment is non-refundable in whole or in part. Next service payment due at 11:59 P.M. CST on the 360th day. Not eligible for AutoPay discount or multi-line accounts. Plan data usage is available in the U.S. only. Taxes extra. Activation (in-store/In-Home Expert, $15/line), Convenience Fee ($5 for payments by phone), and other fees apply.
    • Data: If 16GB high-speed data allowance is used in a 30-day period, all data speeds including video are reduced to a max. of 1.5Mbps for the remainder of the 30 days.
    • Mobile Hotspot: Requires compatible device. Includes 10GB of high-speed mobile hotspot/tethering data per monthly plan period in the U.S. After 10GB, tethering slowed to a max speed of 128Kbps for the rest of the monthly plan period. At this speed, hotspot use will not fully function. See att.com/broadbandinfo for details on AT&T's network management policies.
    • Video streaming: Plan does not include the Video Management feature. We aim to render streaming video in standard-definition (within the 16GB allotment, max speed of 2Mbps for customers on both a 5G compatible device and rate plan, or 1.5Mbps for other customers) though some video cannot be identified. Sometimes, other content that content providers bundle with streaming video may be impacted and slowed, including downloads. In certain situations, we may deliver video content faster or at higher definition.
    • Unlimited talk and text: Includes unlimited talk and text within the U.S. and from the U.S. to Mexico and Canada, and unlimited text from the U.S. to over 230 countries.
    • Please see the original post for additional details & give the WIKI and additional forum comments a read for helpful discussion.

Honestly, seems better to go to Dark Star on USM. $200 initial annual, no tax, gets you 70GB/month. Thoughts?

I have the old version of the plan and it does indeed include Canada and Mexico. I was just in Vancouver last month.

So basically for $5/month you lose out on Canada + Mexico data and 6GB of hotspot data.

I'm not seeing how you are getting those numbers. I have the old version of this plan that had rollover which has been gone for two years now and it never included data in mexico or canada. It also had the same 10gb of hotspot data that this one does. So unless they added that just for the revised plan that is now gone I think it's literally just a price decrease.

$40/mo 30GB plan says it maxes out at 3mbps so I wouldn't expect more from a plan that's half the price.

Looks like an incredible deal IMO. Check your data usage on your phone, I never exceed more than 10GB every month, unless I go to vacation. I'm reading all the details but I don't find anything about porting my number, do I need to get a new number to get the deal?

What state are you in? I'm in NY and have been on the $300 AT&T Prepaid plan for about 3 years and never paid taxes.
Then again, did you pay using refill cards or direct by credit card?

This is a great deal if it still has priority data, which it looks like. What is the time period to activate it?
