So I saw on reddit that if you purchase in app they will prorate each item making it "hackable" and if you use the browser it will only show the tool price. I tried it both ways and neither is prorating for me. That said, I've seen on here that people have also returned just the tool and the Lowes employee never asked for the "free gift" battery back 🤔 💭 😳
Anyone have any experience with this particular deal recently?

Just checked in the app and tool 249 the battery say FREE so if I return the tool can I keep the battery??? Or they gonna aks for the battery or they can charge me a price for the battery and no full refund???

Generally any item listed as "FREE" has to be returned with the item that made it "free", because if you didnt buy the first item then you had no way to get the other for "free".
Some associates dont know or care though.

Generally, Lowe's can be hack IN-STORE and items will ring up with separate prices. This had allegedly worked in the app as well bu tI've only used it in stores so I can't comment on that.

I saw someone post a while back about the item showing as "free" and returning the "paid" item for full price, making the "free" item actually free. I figured there was NO WAY this could be true and went to try it myself (for research purposes). I went to return the item and the associate didn't recognize it was a BOGO deal.
NO, you do not get the item for free, and NO, the associate can't do do the return (at least not anymore). The computer told her something wasn't right, she tried it a few more times and eventually asked if it was a BOGO purchase. I ended up just returning both items.
This does not work and shouldn't...
