Yes, generally in the $200-300 price range you should be looking at used business laptops on eBay for the best specs to $$$ ratio. Usually you can find them eBay refurbished too which will come with a 1 or 2-year warranty.

Used Thinkpads and Latitude models are very good and you'll generally come across units that were just on an office desk their entire service life.

I agree. I was initially against this because I don't like the thought of using used items due to germophobia but I just wipe it down with Lysol wipes a few times and let it sit come back and it's fine. It's not like my work laptop is brand new all the time. Those enterprise or business grade computers are much better in terms of their build quality so even if spec wise you match with these kinds of consumer grade computers, you're not going get the same durability long-term. The flip switched for me when I had a second laptop with a hinge problem after only a few years.
