They just did a similar deal through MyQ but there was shipping.

Yes, it needs a subscription to do anything related to playback or video capture however, for me, it's worth it just to be able to see the state of your garage doors when you're in your app.

Previously, I would use my nest cam to see if there was anything or anyone blocking the doors and then close the doors with my app. This makes it easy just to see everything in one app and I don't care about the video history or anything like that. So if you're cool with just using it for that, it's short money. Also worth noting I was able to connect it to my Wi-Fi in less than two minutes and it did take a little bit longer than I anticipated, but it connected without issue.

No clue how since the app clearly tells you if the door is open or not (use mine every day).

Could also just hook up everything to Alexa or Google Home and see it in one app there if you have multiple brands

Honestly, I'd look into the Tapo C120 right now. It's 2k, continuous recording, and playback without needing extra subscriptions.

dumb to pay for another subscription just for that..
