A 75in scaled up from 55in should be 86% more screen real estate, so one would expect the equivalent to be 335 (180*1.86) zones, so 312 is pretty darned close to the theoretical.
Edit: After looking into it more, I likely wouldn't want this TV due to a glossy coating on the screen and HDR brightness being too low. Read here for details on the 75in, which should apply to all sizes.

Agreed - I have the 55" QM5K in a room full of windows and the brightness is fantastic for the price, far better than the Vizio and Hisense I tried at similar price points
I just took delivery of two QM5K's and I can' believe how bright they are. I was thinking that I would be returning them, but they are not dim at all!

Everyone gets hung up on numbers and review outlets comparing the very best of the best to a lower mid range TV and think they are getting a bad set. Compare these sets at $400-450 with a walmart $200 or $250 set and you'll get blown away. Of course things change when you have bright light you are dealing with in a room or reflections, but no TV is going to be perfect in that scenario, only improvements the more $ you throw at it. I have the QM6K Pro from Costco in 75", I was worried I'd be let down not getting the 7K, I was surprised by how good it was. I came from a 77" LG G3 OLED that bit the dust early. If I nitpick, I can see some minor irregularities in uniform color on an all white or gray screen in some instances. But that is rare. I'm overall pleased for the money and I don't have to worry about my kids leaving a fixed image in a cartoon or the news burning in. I'd like to get a 55" QM7K for use as a computer monitor one of these days.
Here's something for you: I just set up 2 55" QM5K's and set them next to a 55" QM7. I was told "they are not that bright". Well guess what? In SDR they are only 10% dimmer than the mighty QM7! I have them calibration to each other and 90% brightness on the QM5K is an exact match for 80% on the QM7.
